Hollis Wittman

Hollis Wittman wandered through academia for a decade to end up as the percussionist (and sometime administrator) for Found Sound. After getting her Bachelor of Music with Elective Studies in Psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois, she attended Western Michigan University with the rest of the Found Sound team, graduating with a Master of Arts in Musicology in 2019. She pursued her interest in archives and digital preservation at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, receiving a Master of Science in Library and Information Science in 2021. Her involvement with Found Sound allowed her to see behind the scenes of contemporary composition and sparked a lasting interest in electroacoustic music; specifically, in how the current musical era is being preserved for future study and use. When she isn't fretting about planned obsolescence and improving accessibility, she's teaching one of her dogs (not the one pictured) to give hugs on command and starting, but rarely finishing, fiber arts projects.
